Every time I cooked with my old sauté pan I’d see the little scratches in the base and worry about what chemicals were leaking out into our food so I started using my Le Creuset cast iron pot instead, but both of these options were heavy and hard to clean and required constant stirring to avoid sticking. I have to say for a large sauté pan, this is incredibly light weight, which I found very helpful when I was trying to hold it up with one hand and spoon the contents out into a baking dish or a serving bowl with the other hand. I first tried cooking a Sheppard's pie in it and usually when it’s going through the reduction phase I have to stir it constantly to avoid it sticking, but I barely had to touch this and when I did it just glided off the sides and bottom. It’s definitely the best non-stick surface I’ve worked with. When the meat was ready I could easily hold the pan up with one hand while I poured and spooned the meat out into a baking dish with the other hand, and I didn’t need mittens to hold it. Some pans I purchased in the past the handles have gotten so hot, but I could easily hold this with bare hands. I certainly didn’t need the stainless steel scrubber like I did with the cast iron pot. This was incredibly easy to clean with normal detergent and the little sustainable bamboo brush they supply. I love it so much I have just purchased the baking dish so my Sheppard's pie can be cooked chemical free from start to finish and my guess is it will be much lighter than…
